Introducing the second release in our PS series, the 1/700 scale U.S. Navy Aircraft Carrier U.S.S. Lexington (CV-2). This iconic vessel, originally slated to be a battleship, was transformed into a formidable aircraft carrier following the Washington Naval Treaty in the 1920s. Commissioned in 1927, the Lexington played a pivotal role in honing naval air combat tactics through rigorous fleet exercises prior to World War II. As a vanguard of U.S. Navy air power, she valiantly countered the advances of the IJN Combined Fleet at a critical juncture in the Pacific War. Our model kit of the Lexington is crafted with precision, drawing from original plans and extensive historical research to faithfully capture its March 1942 wartime configuration.
