Prize Figure

Prize figures are pre-painted, fully assembled figures produced for Japan's arcade and lottery prize channel — UFO catchers, kuji draws and crane games — then sold on to collectors worldwide. They are non-scale, typically 15–25 cm, and cost a fraction of a scale figure while using the same sculpting studios. What makes a figure a prize figure?

The distribution channel, not the quality. Prize figures are made to a fixed cost for arcade and lottery operators, so they are non-scale, use simpler bases and skip the collector packaging — but they are produced by the same manufacturers as retail figures and cover the same characters, often months earlier.
