Real Grade Gundam (RG Gundam)

Real Grade (RG) is Bandai's 1/144 scale Gunpla line that pursues a realistic look, launched in July 2010. RG kits sit at the same scale as High Grade (HG), so they display side by side, but aim for a more realistic look at the same size.

What scale are RG Gundam kits?

Real Grade kits are 1/144 scale, the same scale as High Grade and Entry Grade.

What is the difference between RG and HG?

Both are 1/144 scale. Bandai describes Real Grade as a 1/144 line that pursues a realistic look, while High Grade is its standard 1/144 line.

Do these kits need glue?

No. Bandai introduced its snap-fit method in 1987, so the parts go together without adhesive.

What tools do I need?

Bandai recommends a modeling nipper to trim each part from its runner. Entry Grade is the exception: its touch gates can be separated by hand.
