Model paints are the core of any finish. This range covers acrylics, lacquers and hobby enamels in bottles and sets, led by AK Interactive (Real Colors and 3G Acrylics), Mr. Hobby / GSI Creos (Mr. Color C and Aqueous H ranges), Army Painter, Ammo Mig, Abteilung502 and SMS.

Acrylic or lacquer?

Water-based acrylics (Aqueous H, AK 3G, Army Painter) clean up with water, smell less and suit brush work and indoor benches. Lacquers (Mr. Color C, AK Real Colors) spray harder, dry faster and give a tougher finish, but need proper ventilation and their own thinner. Thinners and cleaners are in Thinner, surface prep in Primer / Surfacer, protective coats in Topcoat, and weathering products in Weathering.
