What Is Moderoid?
MODEROID is Good Smile Company's model kit brand, offering snap-fit plastic model kits of iconic mecha and robots from classic anime and special effects series. MODEROID kits bring beloved machines like Mazinger Z, Gurren Lagann, Raideen, and Patlabor to life as buildable, poseable models. The kits feature pre-colored plastic parts, snap-fit assembly, and good articulation.
Moderoid: History and Evolution
MODEROID launched as Good Smile Company's entry into the model kit market, differentiating itself by focusing on classic super robot and real robot designs that Bandai's Gundam-focused lineup doesn't cover. The brand has earned praise for making model kits of beloved mecha that haven't been available as modern plastic kits before, filling a significant gap in the market for fans of classic mecha anime.
How to Choose Your Moderoid
They use snap-fit assembly similar to Gundam kits, requiring only basic tools like nippers. MODEROID is perfect for fans of classic mecha who want to build and display their favorite robots. The kits offer good detail and poseability for their price point.
