What is Kotobukiya?

Kotobukiya is a Japanese maker of plastic model kits and figures headquartered in Tachikawa, Tokyo. It traces its roots to a toy shop opened in Tachikawa in 1947 and began making its own products in the 1980s.

What is Frame Arms Girl?

Frame Arms Girl is Kotobukiya's line of girl-character plastic model kits based on its Frame Arms mecha. The series started in May 2015, and the kits are assembled from plastic runners.

What is Megami Device?

Megami Device is Kotobukiya's original "bishoujo x mechanic" kit series, launched in December 2016 with the WISM Soldier kit. The figures are about 14 cm tall, come molded in color and use printed face parts, so they can be built without paint.

What is the difference between Frame Arms Girl and Megami Device?

Frame Arms Girl turns Kotobukiya's Frame Arms mecha into girl characters, while Megami Device is a separate line of original mecha-girl characters built on a shared articulated body. Both use 3 mm connection holes, so armor and weapons can be swapped between them.

What is Hexa Gear?

Hexa Gear is Kotobukiya's 1/24 scale mecha kit series, first shown in 2016. Its Governor pilot figures stand about 7.6 cm tall and connect to the mechs and to other Kotobukiya kits through 3 mm joints.

What is M.S.G (Modeling Support Goods)?

M.S.G is Kotobukiya's line of customization parts for plastic model kits, including Weapon Units, dress-up parts and Megami Device body parts. Its 3 mm joints fit Frame Arms, Frame Arms Girl, Hexa Gear and Megami Device kits.

What are Kotobukiya ZOIDS HMM kits?

HMM (Highend Master Model) is Kotobukiya's 1/72 scale ZOIDS plastic model kit line. The largest kit so far, Gojulas Marking Plus Ver., is about 51 cm long.

What is the difference between ARTFX J and Bishoujo statues?

ARTFX J statues feature characters from Japanese anime, comics and games. Bishoujo statues are usually 1/7 scale and reimagine characters from Marvel, DC, Star Wars and other franchises in illustrations by Shunya Yamashita.

Do Kotobukiya model kits need glue or paint?

Most current Kotobukiya plastic kits snap together and come molded in color, so they can be built without glue. Larger or highly detailed kits such as ZOIDS HMM look their best with panel lining or paint.
