Warhammer 40,000 (40K) is the British miniature wargame produced by Games Workshop, first published as a rulebook in September 1987. It is set in the distant future, where a stagnant human civilisation is beset by hostile aliens and supernatural creatures; its tagline reads "In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war". The setting has also grown into novels and video games such as Dawn of War, the Space Marine series and Darktide.

How to choose
Start with the faction you follow. Named characters and Primarchs make the centrepiece of a shelf, while squad figures such as the Kasrkin build up a unit around them. Jetbikes add movement to a display, and the MkX helmets are display pieces in their own right. Availability changes as makers reissue and retire items, so check each product page for the current status.
