Description
[468] 1:700 IJN Destroyer Arashio — Hasegawa's 1/700 scale kit of the Asashio-class destroyer Arashio.
The ten Asashio-class fleet destroyers were developed from the earlier TOKU destroyers and became the basis for the Kagero and Yugumo classes. Arashio, completed in December 1937, was the fourth of the class, and was disabled by American and Australian bombers in March 1943 during the Battle of the Bismarck Sea.
This kit shows Arashio after her first anti-aircraft upgrade, with a 25mm gun in front of the bridge and two 25mm triple machine guns in front of the second funnel. Parts are molded in gray, and the box art is by Tankro Kato.
