Description
Discover the majestic Kronprinz, a gem from the Konig class of the Kaiser German Navy during the WWI era. Crafted with precision at AG Vulcan in Hamburg, this battleship was laid down on October 3rd, 1911, launched on May 5th, 1913, and proudly commissioned on July 30th, 1914. As a formidable force, the Konig class battleships were designed to dominate the North Sea, with the Kronprinz and its four sister ships forming the valiant 3rd Squadron of the Open Sea Navy (Hochseeflotte). This squadron was at the heart of all battle operations post-WWI onset. Following the armistice, the German Navy faced internment by the allies at the Royal Navy’s base at Scapa Flow. It was here, on June 21, 1919, that the Kronprinz, along with its sister ships, met a solemn fate, scuttled by their own crews.
