Description
1/350 IJN Aircraft Carrier Akagi 1941 — Hasegawa's full-hull plastic model kit of the Akagi as she appeared in 1941, developed from the latest data.
Akagi served as Vice Admiral Nagumo's flagship for the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941, took part in the invasion of Rabaul and the attack on Darwin, and was lost at the Battle of Midway in 1942. The completed model is 74.5cm long, 15.7cm wide and 11.7cm high.
The air wing aircraft are molded in clear plastic, which simplifies painting the canopies, with surface detail matching Hasegawa's 1/48 kits. This initial release includes a 54cm x 84cm poster of the box art by Noriyoshi Orai. Photo-etched and wooden deck detail sets are available separately.
