Description

GodHand SPN-120 Ultimate Nipper (with Protection Cap) — a single-edged nipper built for one job and built to do it better than anything else: taking parts off the runner with a cut surface so clean it often needs no sanding at all.

The single-edged geometry presses the flat face of the blade against the part instead of pinching it from both sides, which is what removes the white stress marks a conventional double-edged cutter leaves behind. The ergonomic handle keeps a secure grip over long build sessions, and the included cap protects the edge between uses.

Key Features

  • Single-edged blade for a near-invisible cut surface on plastic parts
  • Designed specifically for gate cutting on plastic model kits
  • Cutting capacity: 3 mm or less (PS, PP, ABS, PE resin)
  • Transparent and semi-transparent plastic: 1 mm or less
  • Ergonomic handle that reduces hand fatigue during extended use
  • Protection cap included

What's Included

  • SPN-120 Ultimate Nipper x 1
  • Protection cap x 1

Using & Caring for Your Nipper

The SPN-120 is rated for 3 mm and under in PS, PP, ABS and PE, and 1 mm and under in transparent or semi-transparent plastic. That narrow clear-plastic limit is the price of the blade geometry that gives it its cut quality — stay inside it and the edge lasts; ignore it once and it usually does not.

  • Cut twice, not once. Take the part off the runner with a rough cut a few millimetres away from the piece, then trim the remaining nub flush. Cutting flush in one pass forces the blade through more plastic than it is designed for and leaves stress marks on the part.
  • Let the blade do the work. Close the handles in a straight, steady squeeze. Twisting or levering the nipper sideways while the blade is engaged is the single most common way to chip an edge.
  • Plastic only. Never cut metal wire, photo-etch, staples or hardened gates with a plastic nipper. One cut is enough to ruin the edge permanently.
  • Mind the thick gates. On heavy or reinforced gates, remove most of the material with a hobby knife or side cutter first, then finish with the nipper.
  • Wipe it down after a session. Plastic dust packs into the pivot and the flat face. A soft brush or dry cloth is enough — no solvent needed.
  • Keep the cap on. The supplied protection cap is not packaging. Store the nipper capped so the edge never touches another tool in the drawer.
  • A drop of light oil on the pivot every so often keeps the action smooth. Keep oil off the cutting face.
