Description
GodHand Flex Cloth Emery Cloth Set (GH-NY4) — four sheets of very thin cloth-backed abrasive, in the grades that suit a backing plate.
Cloth rather than paper is the difference: it is tough and resists tearing, and its flexibility lets it follow a curved surface and spring back. Used straight in the hand, the thin cloth passes the pressure of your fingertip through to the work and its own movement shakes out the swarf, so the abrasive keeps cutting and lasts several times longer than paper. When it does clog, tapping the surface with a melamine sponge clears most of the debris. It also works wet, like wet-or-dry paper, and because it is a thin cloth you can cut it with a knife or tear it lengthwise and crosswise by hand. It sticks to a plate less readily than paper does.
