Between November 1945 and the war's end, 45 Kaitens were launched in a desperate bid to turn the tide, managing to confirm the sinking of one U.S. oiler and one destroyer. The sacrifices made by those who manned these torpedoes and the submarines that carried them into the unknown are a testament to the lengths nations will go in times of war.
