Introducing the Aoshima S-Boat Model Kit!
The Versailles Treaty may have restricted Germany's naval power after WWI, but that didn't stop the shipbuilding company Lurssen from producing small motorboats with armament. These boats were fast, strong, and seaworthy - catching the eye of the German Navy. In 1929, the Navy ordered a similar boat with two torpedo tubes, giving birth to the S-1 and laying the foundation for all subsequent S-boats.
The design of the S-boats evolved over time, leading to the creation of the S-7, S-26, S-30, S-38, and S-100 classes. These boats proved to be substantially superior to the gasoline-fueled American PT boats and achieved outstanding military results alongside the German U-boats.
