Ikari Shinji

Shinji Ikari is the protagonist of Neon Genesis Evangelion, created by Gainax: a boy abandoned by his father Gendo after his mother's death, then summoned to pilot Evangelion Unit-01 against the Angels threatening Tokyo-3. He carries through the Rebuild of Evangelion films, which is where most of these figures come from.

How to choose a Shinji Ikari figure

Prize figures (Ichibansho, Banpresto, SEGA, TAITO, FuRyu) are pre-painted, fixed-pose and the most affordable way into a good sculpt. Articulated lines (S.H.Figuarts, figma, Nendoroid) are for posing and photography. Scale statues (1/7, 1/8, 1/6) are the display centrepieces and cost the most. Availability changes as the makers reissue and retire items, so check each product page for the current status. Browse the full Evangelion collection. Related characters: Asuka Langley, Rei Ayanami, Kaworu Nagisa, Mari Makinami Illustrious.
