Discover the majestic Admiral-class battle cruiser, Hood, brought to life by the 61st Shizuoka Hobby Show. This iconic ship, constructed by the Royal Navy post-World War I, is now available as a detailed model kit. The Hood is renowned for its formidable Mark I 38.1cm/42 caliber guns, mounted in four double turrets, capable of firing shells up to 26,520 meters with a maximum elevation of 30 degrees. Each shell weighs 871 kg, and the guns boast a firing rate of two rounds per minute. In 1931, the Hood was upgraded with a 17.8cm 20-gun rocket launcher for enhanced close-range anti-aircraft defense. This model kit, released by Takom, is a 1/72 scale injection kit that captures the grandeur and intricacy of the Hood with precision.
