Discover the iconic U.S. Navy’s F/A-18C Hornet with this detailed model kit. Originating in 1979 and achieving its first flight in 1987 after several enhancements, this carrier-capable fighter is renowned for its impressive capabilities. Powered by two GE F404-GE-402 turbofan engines, it reaches a top speed of 1,190mph and a cruising range of 1,250mph. Its combat radius extends to 460 miles, making it a formidable fleet defense fighter and interceptor. The aircraft is armed with a 20mm M61A1 Vulcan cannon and can carry a variety of armaments on its nine hard points, including AMRAAM air-to-air missiles, Maverick air-to-ground missiles, and Harpoon anti-ship missiles. Although the E/F type has since succeeded the C type, the legacy of the F/A-18C Hornet continues.
This model kit, produced by Platz with plastic parts from F-Toys, offers a faithful recreation of the legendary aircraft. Designed for simplicity, the number of parts has been minimized to facilitate an easy assembly process. It includes decals for three different versions from the U.S. Navy Strike Fighter Weapons School, also known as the Aggressor (Virtual Enemy) forces, allowing for a personalized touch to your model.
