Discover the legendary Voltaire, a significant piece of naval history launched on January 16, 1909. Engaged in critical operations during the First World War, the Voltaire served in the Western Mediterranean alongside the light cruiser Breslau, patrolled the Otranto Straits, and participated in the Dardanelles blockade. Despite being targeted by the German submarine U48 in October 1918, the Voltaire emerged with minimal damage. Post-war, it underwent a transformation during the 1923-25 modernization and later served as a training vessel until its retirement in 1935. Eventually, the Voltaire's journey concluded when it was sold for scrap and scuttled in 1939.
