Discover the Type 96 Nell, a model kit that brings history to your fingertips. Developed in 1938, this two-engined heavy bomber had a particularly undistinguished career, suffering from all the usual problems of Japanese planes, including low protection, and few of their strong points such as range and maneuverability. Despite being underpowered, the Japanese produced nearly 900 Donryus (Allied code name "Helen"), and they saw extensive action in China.
Despite the actual aircraft’s shortcomings, this kit from Hasegawa is nothing short of marvelous. It boasts incredible detail and sharpness that are typical of Hasegawa's high standards. The kit comes equipped with 250kg bombs, and modelers have the option to assemble the bomb bay doors open or closed, adding a layer of customization to the build. The armament detail is also quite impressive, including that on the tail gun - a notable feature as the Donryu was the first Japanese plane to have one. To top it off, decals are included for two different Hamamatsu Flying School aircraft, allowing for even more personalization.
