Description

Discover the intricacies of aviation history with Dora Wings' brand new 1/48-scale model kit of the early version Caudron-Renault CR.714C, a remarkable aircraft developed by the French company Caudron for World War II. Originating from the C.561, a speed-competition aircraft that achieved a groundbreaking speed of 550km/h in 1936, the CR.714C prototype took to the skies in September 1938. Following successful flight tests, an order for 200 units was placed. Despite being powered by a relatively modest 450-horsepower engine, the CR.714C's sleek design, a legacy of its racing heritage, allowed it to excel in both speed and climb. Although it couldn't match the performance of other contemporary fighters, its Renault engine did not compete for resources with other military aircraft production. Additionally, its wooden construction facilitated rapid production, making it a valuable asset during the war. The first batch of these aircraft, including 14 operated by exiled Poles, was delivered in 1939, with total production falling short of one hundred units. This meticulously crafted model kit not only captures the elegance of the CR.714C but also comes complete with painting mask stickers, photo-etched parts, and decals for four distinct French versions, including three from the Free Polish Air Force. Make this piece of aviation history yours today!
