Description
1/32 Imaginary Skeleton Mosasaurus from "Imaginary Skeleton" — the third skeletal model in the line, capturing prehistoric life from the fossil record.
The Imaginary Skeleton series imagines living motion from ancient bone, and Mosasaurus joins as the third skeletal kit. At roughly 350mm long, it is a fixed-pose skeleton built from current biological theory, freezing an instant of natural movement. The skull captures complex anatomical detail including the sclerotic ring that shielded the eye from water pressure and the intramandibular joint that helped swallow prey. The two staggered rows of upper-jaw teeth show the kinship with snakes, and the refined ribs and rib cage hint at the compromise between water-pressure resistance and agile motion. Fin-shaped limbs are richly jointed for the smooth water-stroke motion the species used in life, a recess on the central spine marks the assembly orientation, and the base recreates ammonites and rudist bivalves that shared its sea. A separate booklet supervised by reptile and dinosaur researcher Kyoichi Tomita is bundled with the kit.
