Developed by North American Aviation and tailored to meet the U.S. Air Force's specifications for a multipurpose training aircraft, the T-39 Saberliner boasts design elements reminiscent of the F-86 Saber fighter, earning its name. Since its introduction in 1959, it has served the U.S. Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps as a versatile transport and training aircraft. A civilian version was later produced by Rockwell, following its merger with North American Aviation. This aircraft was a familiar sight at Yokota Air Base in Japan until the 1980s, operated by PACAF and FAA-affiliated units.
This model kit represents a completely new mold by Sword, offering detail and accuracy.
