Description
Discover the historical marvel of automotive engineering with our meticulously crafted model kit, inspired by the legendary development of the KdF-Wagen vehicle under the direct influence of Adolf Hitler in the late 1930s. Ferdinand Porsche, a renowned German automotive designer, embarked on creating a vehicle that would resonate with the masses of Nazi Germany, leading to the birth of what is popularly known today as the VW Beetle. This iconic vehicle, initially named after the Kraft-durch-Freude slogan, translating to "Strength Through Joy," underwent significant transformations as the world edged closer to war in 1938.
With the looming threat of conflict, the development of military versions of this vehicle commenced, branching into two main types: the Type 82E with rear-wheel drive and the Type 877 equipped with all-four-wheel drive. These variants were extensively utilized by the Third Reich’s military and other state sectors throughout the war, undergoing numerous subversions, conversions, and enhancements, including a notable wood-gas-drive conversion among others.
One of the early adaptations was the Type 825 Pick-Up, which emerged from a modified Type 82 body and chassis, designed to enhance passability. This version was tailored for a crew of two and featured a significantly large load area. Additionally, the Type 82E served as a base for the development of the Type 83 and Type 86 Kastenwagen vehicles, distinguished by their box-shaped wooden superstructures. These models varied in their interior configurations to suit different operational roles, with the Type 83 primarily used for mail transport by the Reichspost and the Type 86 functioning as an ambulance car.
Our model kit brings this rich history to life, offering enthusiasts and collectors the opportunity to own a piece of automotive and military heritage. The kit is meticulously molded in gray and clear plastic, ensuring high fidelity to the original designs. It also includes premium resin parts and photo-etched components for an unparalleled building experience.
