The prototype was created by Nendo Alien (RYO), who specializes in dinosaur and creature models. Kaiju No. 8 is depicted in a simple yet powerful pose, facing his enemy with his fists clenched. The details of his jet-black body feature sharp sculpting of the unique texture of his scale-like outer skin from chest to shoulders, the shell that covers his limbs and flanks, and even the individual muscle fibers peeking through the gaps. The paintwork increases the figure's impressiveness in this large scale, and the skull-like face and the protrusions along his spine have delicate ink marks to express their bonelike texture. The light blue lines that run all over his body are also brightly colored to give the impression of overflowing energy within.
