Pontos Model 1/350 USS LHD-2 Essex

I'll try to keep it short: while this set incorporates good ideas , it is actually TERRIBLE execution !!
Not worth the money !!
The PE LOOKS NICE, NIGHTMARE TO WORK WITH.
AWFUL perforations at bends, HARD to bend ladders, stairs. Railings are thick, break easily at corners and HARD to achieve 90 degree bends.
Millions of tiny , unnoticeable details that will only add FRUSTRATION . Over-complicated details. A LOT of the PE parts can be replaced with a single piece of dimensional styrene, instead of suffering with 20 cuts and 6 bends . The air wing PE IS A JOKE!
Decals are off-color ( greens, yellows and greys) , hull number completely WRONG shade. They don't offer options for different eras of the ship's life. Very DISAPPOINTING from Cartograph!
Veteran models is great , but that's no credit to Pontos !
The machined brass pieces look nice , and so do the F-35s made by Omega.
Overall: PONTOS SUCKS AT PHOTO ETCH AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. OVERPRICED, FRUSTRATING! NEVER AGAIN
