HI-METAL R XD-01SR Dragonar-1 Custom is a Bandai HI-METAL R figure of the Dragonar-1 Custom piloted by Kaine Wakaba in Metal Armor Dragonar (1987-88), and one of the releases that launched the HI-METAL R line.
The figure has an inner-frame structure with opening hatches. It stays close to the original animation design while being updated for more detail, and the large main wings carry detailed thrusters and exposed mechanisms. The armor on the head, chest, shoulders, sleeves, waist, thighs and lower legs unfolds to show the internal frame, and the cylinder-type cockpit opens and closes.
The handrail gun and super hybrid shield can be held in the hands, the shoulder bomb comes off the right shoulder, and a four-unit dual missile pod hangs under each main wing. The assault knife stored on the calf, the disk-shaped throw-in bomb on the right hip and the laser sword on the left hip can all be removed and held. Four spare railgun magazines on the lower arm can be stored inside the shield, and separate parts recreate the sword's double-edged form.
