Discover the iconic 18-ton M4 High Speed Tractor, a remarkable piece of military history, meticulously developed and constructed by the Allis-Chalmers Manufacturing Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from 1943 to 1945. This model, rooted in the design of the T9 and later standardized as the Medium Tractor M4, emerged as a pivotal High Speed Tractor M4. Alongside the M5 and M6 High Speed Tractors, it played a crucial role in phasing out the older commercial-type crawler tractors, which were no longer suitable for the demands of a modern mechanized army. Designed primarily as a prime mover for the 90mm antiaircraft gun and 3-inch gun, the M4 High Speed Tractor was instrumental in carrying both crew and a basic supply of ammunition. With production kicking off in March 1943, a total of 5,552 M4 tractors were assembled by June 1945, with an additional 259 M4A1 tractors produced between June and August 1945. This model, when assembled, measures 7.36cm in length and 4cm in width, is molded in tan plastic, and comes with decals for an authentic look.
