Description
Discover the iconic Schneider CA1 Tank Model Kit, a tribute to the first French tank that played a pivotal role in World War I. This designed kit features parts molded in authentic brown and beige plastic, capturing the essence of the historic tank. Once assembled, the model measures approximately 182.3mm in length and 94.4mm in width, making it a standout addition to any collection.
From the manufacturer:
The Schneider CA1, originally named the Schneider CA, marked a significant milestone in military history as the first French tank. Deployed extensively during the latter years of the war, these tanks made their combat debut on April 16, 1917. Despite a challenging start with heavy losses, the Schneider tanks gradually proved their worth in battle. By 1918, they were instrumental in stopping the German Spring Offensive and played a crucial role in the French summer offensives that broke through the German front lines. Active until the end of September 1918, just weeks before the Armistice, the Schneider tanks' contribution to the war effort was undeniable, even as their numbers dwindled due to attrition. Post-war, the surviving tanks found new life as utility vehicles, with six units seeing action in the early stages of the Spanish Civil War as part of Spain's deployment in Morocco.
