[JT96] 1:48 Mitsubishi F1M2 Type Zero Observation Seaplane (Pete) Model 11

1:48 MITSUBISHI F1M2 TYPE ZERO OBSERVATION SEAPLANE (PETE) MODEL 11 — Hasegawa kit JT96, a 1:48 scale model of the two-seat biplane observation floatplane.

Developed to take over reconnaissance and artillery-spotting duties from earlier shipboard seaplanes, the type combined climb, dogfighting and speed performance in a clean, refined airframe, serving across patrol, reconnaissance, convoy escort and interception duties as well as light attacks on ships with small bombs — with roughly 1,000 built. The full-size aircraft spanned 11.00m, measured 9.50m long and 4.00m tall, and reached 370km/h on an 800hp engine, armed with two forward-firing 7.7mm machine guns and one rear flexible 7.7mm gun.

The kit carries stunning surface detail with fine panel lines and delicate rivets, similarly magnificent cockpit and engine detail, all lights provided as clear parts, and an included beaching dolly. Decals cover Y1-23 and L-2-11, both used in the Solomons mid-war, and Sa 951-8 of the 951st Naval Flying Group at Sasebo in the summer of 1945.
