Introducing the Kongo, the last Japanese battleship built overseas and the first to carry 14-inch guns!
Later rebuilt in Japan, the Kongo saw action at Midway and the Battle of Leyte Gulf before being sunk by the US submarine Sea Lion in November 1944. This makes the Kongo the only Japanese battleship ever sunk by a submarine, and the last battleship to meet this fate.
This beautifully detailed full-hull model comes with a stand, showcasing the Kongo as it appeared in October 1944. The special premium version of this model kit includes photo-etched parts, metal gun barrels, and a masking sheet for the deck.
