Discover the iconic F-4 Jet Fighter Model Kit, a tribute to the first all-weather, twin-engine carrier-capable fighter of the U.S. Navy. Developed to follow the B-type deployed in 1961, this model represents the F-4C variant, which saw the Air Force upgrade its electronic and bombing systems to meet their standards. Beginning its deployment in 1964, the F-4C played a crucial role from April 1965, stationed in South Vietnam and Thailand with a mission to eliminate MiG fighters. The F-4D variant introduced an enhanced radar and bombing control system, improving low-altitude target detection and bombing accuracy. This model features the distinctive Vietnamese camouflage, standard from the D type's production stage.
Included are decals to recreate the markings of the aircraft that achieved the first MiG ace during the Vietnam War, as well as the aircraft led by Colonel Chuck Yeager, commander of the FTFW (4th Tactical Fighter Wing). This first-release edition of the kit also comes with an exclusive plastic pilot figure by Tamiya, making it a must-have for collectors and aviation enthusiasts alike.
