Discover the precision and historical accuracy of the Border Models' Ju87 G-1 model kit, a completely new mold that brings to life the anti-tank attack aircraft developed during World War II. Designed to repel Soviet tanks, this aircraft was equipped with formidable Flak 18 37mm cannons under its main wing, making it a fearsome adversary on the battlefield. In 1942, the concept of using the Stuka to launch attacks against Soviet tanks came to fruition, with a prototype based on the Ju87d-1 undergoing testing in December. The results were impressive, demonstrating that a single shot from the 37mm gun could incapacitate a tank by targeting the engine part at the rear. Drawing from the D-5’s fuselage, the G-2 variant also featured a 37mm cannon attached to the underside of both wings, similar to the G-1, but with the 20mm wing cannons removed. Predominantly deployed on the Eastern Front, the G-1 and G-2 variants showcased their effectiveness in combating Soviet tank forces.
This model kit offers a meticulous reproduction of the cockpit and engine, ensuring a detailed and authentic build. It includes decals for two versions, allowing for customization and personalization.
