The Leopard 1 A3 version introduces several enhancements over the Leopard 1 A2, featuring a new welded turret with spaced armor and a wedge-shaped gun mantlet. It also boasts a turret rear stowage bin seamlessly integrated into the turret's contour and a movable loader’s periscope in both elevation and azimuth. The Leopard 1 A4 maintains the A3's turret design but adds an integrated fire-control system, enabling more accurate long-distance targeting.
