Discover the ancient marvel of Chinese maritime history with our crafted Junk Vessel model. This exquisite piece brings to life the traditional Chinese vessels, known as "Junk," which played a pivotal role in the transportation of people and goods across seas, rivers, and lakes in ancient China. Derived from the word "jong," the term "Junk" was introduced by the Spanish as "Junco." Setting these vessels apart from their Western counterparts, Junk vessels feature a unique construction without a keel and boast 2 or 3 layers of sheathing. To ensure water resistance, the surface was traditionally treated with oil or lime. The ingeniously simple design of the mast and sail facilitated the quick lowering during storms or strong winds, showcasing the advanced maritime technology of ancient China. These vessels reached their pinnacle during the Song Dynasty, embarking on voyages to distant lands such as India and Arabia for trade.
Upon assembly, this model will stand as a testament to ancient ingenuity and maritime prowess, measuring approximately 27.3cm in length, 33cm in height, and 12cm in width.
