Yubel

Yubel is the antagonist of the Dimension World arc in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, the 2004 to 2008 sequel set at Duel Academy. A Duel Monster spirit bound to a card, Yubel was in Jaden Yuki's deck from childhood.

What makes Yubel stand out

• A card that punishes attacks. The card is a Level 10 DARK Fiend with 0 ATK and 0 DEF. It cannot be destroyed by battle, its controller takes no battle damage, and an attacker takes damage equal to its own ATK. Each end phase it needs a tribute or destroys itself.
• Three eyes, two halves. The design is built on opposites: sickly pink skin, large black wings, mismatched eyes, a third eye set vertically in the forehead, and a body split into a male side and a female side.
• It upgrades when destroyed. Destroyed by anything except its own effect, it brings out Yubel - Terror Incarnate from the hand, deck or graveyard, and that form leads to a third.
• It reaches out of the card. As a spirit, Yubel acts from inside the card, cursing duelists who upset Jaden and taking over people who carry darkness.
