Yoshino

Yoshino Himekawa is the second Spirit that Shido saves in Date A Live, Kōshi Tachibana and Tsunako's light novel series. She appears in the rain in an oversized green raincoat with rabbit ears, says almost nothing, and lets a hand puppet speak for her.

What makes Yoshino stand out

• Yoshinon does the talking. The white rabbit puppet on her left hand is her hero as much as her prop. It speaks loudly and in third person where she cannot, and it goes quiet when the two are apart.
• Her angel is a rabbit. Zadkiel, translated as the Freezing Puppet, arrives as a rabbit some three metres long with one red eye and an eyepatch, and breathes air cold enough to act like liquid nitrogen.
• The weather is hers. In her first appearances the rain followed her, and when the puppet was taken she froze her surroundings without meaning to.
• Spirit first, student later. Once Shido seals her power she moves into the apartments beside his, starts school, and slowly learns to speak without the puppet.
