The Walking Mushroom is a monster in Delicious in Dungeon, Ryoko Kui's manga about an adventuring party that eats what it kills. It is a mushroom on two legs, among the first creatures the party meets, and the first thing they cook. This collection is plush and soft vinyl rather than scale figures, with a Nendoroid of Laios, the party's monster-obsessed swordsman, alongside them.
What it does in the story
Walking Mushrooms are the dungeon's weakest monsters and keep to the upper floors, where they chase adventurers too green to fight back. They have no visible sense organs, so how they find anyone is unknown. A bash to the head finishes one, and vertical cuts work better than horizontal ones.
What makes it different
A mushroom that walks.
Two feet under a cap, the body shaped like an upturned mushroom, standing about a quarter of a human's height.
One name, many species.
Species grouped under the name vary in size, shape and flavour, and their appearance tracks the dungeon they grew in.
Not all of them are food.
Edibility is hard to judge even for veteran cooks: the outer three inches and the rear are discarded for texture, while the feet are kept.
How big is it?
Common form: 50 to 80 cm tall.
Oversized variants: In older parts of a dungeon they can grow from floor to ceiling of a level.
