The VF-31J Siegfried is Hayate Immelmann's machine, unit 05 of Delta Flight in Macross Delta, and the newest of the four Siegfried types.

What it does in the story

Delta Flight flies guard for Walküre's battlefield concerts, holding Vár sufferers back while the singers work.

What makes it different

  • A full model change. Built on operating data and classed as an air-superiority support fighter, it has a single head gun and a red visor over a white and blue airframe.
  • Tuned around one pilot. Walküre Works adjusted the controls for a pilot who dislikes AI intervention and added a rig behind the seat that fits his EX-Gear helmet automatically, since he flies bareheaded.

How big is it?

  • Battroid mode: 15.33 m tall, without the head guns.
  • Weight: 8,525 kg empty, the lightest of the four.
