VF-25S Armored Messiah Valkyrie

The VF-25S Armored Messiah Valkyrie is Ozma Lee's VF-25 with the APS-25A armored pack, the leader's machine in Macross Frontier.

What it does in the story

S.M.S had the VF-25 before the regular military, and the pack went to machines expected to hold a line.

What makes it different

  • Forty tonnes of pack. Armour with its own boosters brings the pack to 40 t and a normal launch to about 52 t.
  • It can still transform. Earlier packs came off before a mode change; this one clears the moving parts.
  • Issued to leaders. Costly and awkward, so only squadron-leader machines carry it, and it runs second-generation energy-conversion armour in all three modes.

How big is it?

  • Fighter mode: 18.72 m nose to tail, 15.50 m across the wings, 4.03 m high.
