VF-25F Messiah Valkyrie

The VF-25F Messiah Valkyrie is the dogfight-specialised VF-25 of Macross Frontier, the unit 007 machine Alto Saotome inherits in S.M.S Skull Platoon.

What it does in the story

Frontier's Vajra war runs through 2059. Shinsei built the VF-25 from YF-24 data and shipped it to S.M.S before the regular military had it.

What makes it different

• Tuned for the merge. A second head laser, a wrap-around goggle camera, more thrust and roll rate, thrust-vectoring nozzles, and fire control with off-boresight missiles and a helmet display.
• A wingman that can still lead. It flies as a partner aircraft, so stability and handling modes stayed broad even as the dogfight package went in.

• Fighter mode: 18.72 m long, 15.50 m span, 4.03 m tall; battroid stands 14.53 m.
