Velociraptor

The Velociraptor is the dinosaur that opens Jurassic Park and the one the characters spend the rest of the film escaping: a pack hunter with a raised sickle claw on each foot.

What makes the Velociraptor stand out

• Larger than the fossil animal The film's raptor stands five to six feet tall and measures nine to thirteen feet from nose to tail. The real Velociraptor was about wolf-sized and feathered; the films follow Gregory S. Paul's taxonomy, which folds Deinonychus into the genus, then scale the animal up further.
