Shagaru Magala is an Elder Dragon introduced in Monster Hunter 4, the adult form of Gore Magala. Capcom titles it the Heavenly Revolving Dragon.

What it does in the story

It is what Gore Magala becomes after shedding. The dull hide turns gold, the eyes under the horns open, and the ragged wings stiffen into star-shaped sheets.

What makes it different

  • The virus matures with it. It no longer needs scales to see. It fires frenzy beams and scatters pools of scales that detonate.
  • Passive spread. Shed scales still infect whatever they touch, and a single pass can strip a mountainside.
  • Wingarms first. It closes with the wingarms to pummel and pin, then dives from height. Dragon and fire are the weaknesses.

How big is it?

  • Crown sizes: 1,564.73 cm at the small gold crown, 2,187.06 cm at the large.
