SCV-70 White Base

SCV-70 White Base is a Pegasus-class assault carrier of the Earth Federation Forces, launched in July U.C. 0079 as the first ship of its class to enter service. It is 262 m long and carries up to six mobile suits.

What it does in the story

Sent to Side 7 to collect the Operation V mobile suits, it came under attack and left with the Gundam, two Guncannons and a Guntank aboard, crewed largely by surviving civilians and cadets. Zeon never learned its name and logged it as the Trojan Horse. Paolo Cassius commanded it first and Bright Noa after him, until it was lost at A Baoa Qu.

What makes it different

• It flies without wings. A Minovsky Craft System holds the ship up in atmosphere even at low speed, and two engines of 32,000 t thrust each lift it clear of the atmosphere with no booster packs.
• Four catapults, two for Core Fighters. Two electromagnetic catapults launch mobile suits and two launch Core Fighters, each with a blast deflector behind it. A maintenance area sits at the rear of the hangar deck.

How big is it?

• Length: 262 m, with a 202.5 m beam and 93 m height
• Displacement: 62,000 t loaded against 32,000 t empty
