Sanji

Sanji, who goes by Black Leg, cooks for the Straw Hat Pirates in Eiichiro Oda's One Piece. He first appears in chapter 43, in 1998, and joins the crew as its fourth member. He learned his trade in a floating restaurant and fights only with his legs, on the principle that a cook's hands exist for food. The flame-lit kicks that follow from that rule give sculptors a signature pose to build around.

What makes Sanji stand out

• He fights with his legs only. Because a cook cannot risk his hands, every Sanji technique is a kick, and the later ones ignite. Statues lean on that: one leg planted, the other extended, with fire modelled around the shin.
• The jacket and hair date the release. Earlier designs use the black suit and tie with long bangs; later ones move to the double-breasted jacket and a goatee. Titles naming Onigashima or Egghead mark the more recent arcs.
• Portrait.Of.Pirates treats him as a display piece. The P.O.P releases are built larger than the prize statues, on a base, with a painted finish meant for a shelf rather than a desk.
• Smaller formats run alongside. Lookup sets him seated with his knees drawn up, in one case paired with Nami and a cloche and orange. Mega Cat Project recasts the crew as cats, which turns him into a small figure for a narrow shelf.

What this collection covers

Most of the page is fixed-pose statue work: Ichibansho and Masterlise pieces, a FiguartsZERO release, a Portrait.Of.Pirates statue, seated Lookup figures including a paired set, and Mega Cat Project's cat-styled take on the crew.
