RZ-002 Guysack

The RZ-002 Guysack is a Scorpion-type Zoid of the Helic Republic: small, cheap, one of the oldest frames in the setting, sharing its cockpit with the earlier Gurantula.

What it does in the story

In Chaotic Century the Republic buries Guysacks as sentries the characters call Sleepers. A sky-blue one flown by the rookie Bull chases Van in the first episode, making it the first Zoid the anime shows.

What makes it different

• It digs in. At home in loose desert soil, it burrows and comes up under whatever passes.
• The tail is the gun. An AZ 30 mm beam rifle, swappable for a 70 mm beam cannon.
• Cheap enough to lose. Two crew at most, a smoke discharger as its only defensive item.
