RGZ-95C ReZEL Type-C (GR)

RGZ-95C ReZEL Type-C (GR) is the ReZEL Commander Type as assigned to the battleship General Revil in Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn (2010, U.C. 0096). The GR in the name stands for General Revil, and the machine is a colour variation of the Type-C whose performance is unchanged from the standard Commander Type.

What it does in the story

A number of Type-C (GR) units are deployed when the General Revil ambushes the Nahel Argama and the Garencieres in U.C. 0096, and some of them are intercepted and disabled by the YAMS-132 Rozen Zulu and the Sinanju. In U.C. 0097 the same ship takes them to the Helium-3 storage base to destroy a Zeon cruiser, where they are committed against Zoltan Akkanen's NZ-999 II Neo Zeong.

What makes it different

• It does not carry the Mega Beam Launcher as standard. The Type-C machines aboard the Nahel Argama ship with the launcher as standard equipment; the General Revil's units do not. The weapon is still available to the type as an option, mounted on the backpack and fed by the suit's generator plus a sub-generator of its own.
• Each forearm holds either grenade launchers or sabers. Two rounds fit in a launcher that can be mounted in each forearm, comparable to the ones the Re-GZ carries and useful in close combat. The same hardpoints take a pair of beam sabers in place of the launchers, so a machine can be fitted either way.
• The shield is the main weapon in waverider mode. A beam cannon at the front of the shield fires in three-round bursts and becomes the primary armament once the suit is in flight. The blade on the back of the shield is a ramming weapon for close combat.
• Its rifle can turn into a long saber. The beam rifle runs on a replaceable E-pack, with a spare kept under the shield, and has a long-duration high-output mode pilots call the Guillotine Burst. The muzzle can also generate a beam blade, letting the rifle serve as a long beam saber.
