RGE-G1100 Adele

RGE-G1100 Adele is the Earth Federation's mass-production mobile suit in the Asemu arc of Mobile Suit Gundam AGE, on line from A.G. 140. It descends from the AGE-1 Gundam AGE-1 Normal, and reading the AGE System's black box took about 25 years of development.

What it does in the story

The Adele debuts during the Vagan assault on the colony Tordia and takes over from the Shaldoll Custom and Genoace II as the Federation's standard machine. Two blue-painted examples flown by Alisa Gunhale and Max Hartway are the ones the anime singles out, and the type is still deployed in A.G. 164 alongside its Adele Mk-II successor.

What makes it different

  • It is a Gundam in all but name. The frame is developed from the AGE-1's and the weapons are shared, and kit documentation calls the result very nearly a mass-produced Gundam. It posted combat records across a number of fronts.
  • The rifle gave up a mode to cut cost. The DODS Rifle E keeps the same strength as the AGE-1's DODS Rifle. Better sensors let the design drop the precision firing mode, which is where the unit cost came down.
  • Its limbs come off in the field. The Wear System detaches arms and legs so alternate sets can be fitted without a hangar, and the Adele inherited the AGE-1's Titus and Spallow options along with it.
  • It can wear another suit's boosters. The G-Bouncer Booster Attachment bolts the WMS-GB5 G-Bouncer's boosters to the Adele and lifts its speed.

How big is it?

  • Overall height: 18.0 m
  • 1/144: roughly 12.5 cm

Frequently asked questions

1. Which wears fit the Adele?

The AGE-1's Titus and Spallow wears go straight on, since the frame is developed from that machine. The design also spun off dedicated Adele Titus, Spallow and Cannon variants.

2. What is the Dummy Shot?

A pistol-shaped training weapon that fires balloon-dispenser rounds. It is issued for target practice, not combat, and it is the one piece of Adele equipment with no battlefield role.

3. How long did the Adele take to develop?

About 25 years. Almost all of that went into deciphering the black box behind the AGE System, which is why the Federation was still flying earlier machines while the work was going on.
