MSK-008 Dijeh is a limited-production ground-use mobile suit built by Karaba and introduced in Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam (1986, U.C. 0087). Karaba, the earthbound counterpart of the AEUG, developed it from the RMS-099 Rick Dias, and Amuro Ray piloted it during the Gryps Conflict.
What it does in the story
The Dijeh was built for ground operations rather than adapted to them, with a lightened cooling system and jet thrusters in the legs. It appears in the last stretch of the TV series, fighting at the Titans' Kilimanjaro base in episode 36, where it rides a Dodai Kai and escorts the Zeta Gundam out of the battle alongside the Hyaku Shiki.
What makes it different
-
The pilot sits in the head.
Like the Rick Dias it descends from, the Dijeh carries its panoramic monitor and linear seat in the head rather than the torso, which is why the head is so large in the silhouette.
-
Amuro Ray asked for the shoulder weapon rack.
The rack on the left shoulder carries large firearms such as the Hyper Mega Launcher. Kit manuals state that Amuro proposed it because he wanted to test different weapons on the suit.
-
It hovers instead of walking.
Large heat radiator fins on the back handle cooling for ground operations, and vectoring-nozzle jet thrusters in the legs let the suit hover over the ground rather than cross it on foot.
-
Its weapons come from three other machines.
The BR-M-87 beam rifle is the model the Hyaku Shiki carried, the 300mm clay bazooka is the Rick Dias' weapon, and the Hyper Mega Launcher is the Zeta Gundam's. The bazooka fires adhesive rounds that immobilise a target rather than destroy it.
How big is it?
- Overall height: 23.0 m, with a head height of 18.4 m, according to Bandai's published spec
- 1/144: roughly 16 cm, which covers the HGUC releases
- 1/100: roughly 23 cm, which covers the RE/100 kit

Frequently asked questions
1. Is the Dijeh a Zeta Gundam variant?
No. It is a Karaba machine built from the Rick Dias, with avionics taken from the AEUG's MSA-003 Nemo. It does not transform and shares no frame with the Zeta.
2. Why does the Dijeh have a mono-eye?
Many former Zeon engineers worked on the Rick Dias line it grew out of, so it wears a Zeon-style mono-eye. Later designs also carry two empty sockets behind it where Gundam-style twin cameras would have gone.
3. Which Dijeh appears in Gundam Narrative?
In U.C. 0097 Luio & Co. operated grey-violet Dijehs whose beam rifles took the same standard E-pac as the Jegan D Type's rifle. The commander unit carries a searchlight on the left shoulder.
4. Which kits has the Dijeh been made in?
A 1/144 original from 1986, the HGUC from 2018, an HGUC Narrative Ver. from 2019 and the 1/100 RE/100 from 2015.
