MSJ-121 Demi Trainer is the training mobile suit of the Asticassia School of Technology in Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury (2022, Ad Stella 122). Burion builds it for a school set up to train staff for the space development industry, so it is a teaching machine rather than a frontline design. Suletta Mercury and Reiko Hamlet both pilot one.
The Demi Trainer is the machine students drill in and the machine the school's duels are fought with, which puts it in the opening episode when Suletta is dropped into a duel she never asked for. It returns for the minefield exercise, where one is seen firing a missile launcher and spraying slow-acting masking, and it fills the school's quieter scenes in hangars and on balconies. By A.S. 125, with Asticassia rebuilt, the HZR-09K Huzar has replaced it as the trainer.

1. What is the Staff Antenna for?
It is optional equipment fitted for duels. The victory condition in a school duel is snapping the antenna off the opponent's machine, so a suit entered in a match carries one for the other pilot to break.
2. Is the Demi Trainer a military mobile suit?
No. It was developed for Asticassia's students by Burion, and its armament is scaled for training. The school's own material describes it as the machine students learn to pilot in.
3. What is the YOASOBI version?
A custom Demi Trainer built with YOASOBI and shown in the episode Shall We Gundam?, displayed at the Benerit Group incubation party as a study of using mobile suits for music rather than for weapons.
4. What is the Saber Stick?
A rod-shaped portable weapon, kept simple because it is meant for anti-mobile-suit training. It mounts at the waist or on the backpack rather than being carried in the hand.
