MSA-0011[Ext] Ex-S Gundam

MSA-0011[Ext] Ex-S Gundam is the assault fit of the S Gundam, assembled by Task Force Alpha's engineers aboard the Pegasus III and flown by Ryou Roots in the photo-novel Gundam Sentinel (U.C. 0088). The Ext marks it as the Extraordinary-Superior version of the same frame.

What it does in the story

Task Force Alpha first took the Ex-S into battle over Ayers City on the moon, and kept it in the line while it mopped up New Desides forces. Its heaviest fight came against the ORX-013 Gundam Mk-V, which left it badly damaged.

What makes it different

  • The chest armour hides an I-field. Extra armour over the front of the torso covers the first two of the suit's three cockpits, with an I-field generator behind it. It charges between bursts and raises an anti-beam barrier for a few seconds.
  • Two back boosters bring two more cannons. The large new thruster units on the back carry a beam cannon each, which is how the Ex-S reaches six: four at 12 MW on the back, two at 14 MW on the thighs.
  • It becomes one aircraft, not three. The S Gundam separates into G Attacker, G Bomber and G-Core. The Ex-S folds into one machine called the G-Cruiser, with propellant tanks over its shoulders that are jettisoned on arrival.
  • The knees hold beam-bouncing remote weapons. Two reflector INCOMs carry no gun: they bounce a beam from another unit into a new angle, so the suit can shoot around cover. A third INCOM with a 3.8 MW gun is in the forehead.

  • Overall height: 25.90 m, with a head height of 21.73 m, per Bandai's official spec
  • Weight: 69.24 t empty and 162.5 t full in mobile suit mode
  • 1/144: roughly 18 cm, which covers the original kit and the HGUC release
